Privacy Policy

The short version

Every tool on this site runs inside your own browser. The numbers, dates, text and files you put into a tool are processed on your device and are never transmitted to us. We could not show you what you calculated even if you asked, because we never receive it.

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect names, email addresses or payment details. What follows covers the limited data that is collected automatically, mostly by third parties.

Information we do not collect

• Anything you type into a calculator, converter or generator.
• Any file you select for a file tool. Files are read into memory in your browser and never uploaded.
• Names, email addresses, phone numbers or postal addresses, unless you choose to email us.
• Payment information. Nothing here is paid for.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard server and network information when a page is requested, including the IP address, browser type, referring page and time of the request. This is used to serve the site, keep it available and identify abuse.

Advertising

This site is funded entirely by advertising. We expect to use Google AdSense, and possibly other advertising partners in future.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve advertisements based on a user’s prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve advertisements to users based on their visit to this site and other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visitingGoogle Ads Settings. You can also opt out of third-party vendor use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.

Opting out of personalised advertising does not remove advertising from the site. It means the advertisements you see are less closely targeted.

Analytics

We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages are visited and roughly where visitors come from, so we know which tools are worth building next. This measures pages, not people, and is never joined to anything you enter into a tool.

Cookies

The site itself sets no cookies for tracking. Some tools may store a preference, such as a chosen unit or time zone, in your browser’s local storage so it is remembered on your next visit. That stays on your device and is readable only by this site. Clearing your browser data removes it.

Advertising partners set their own cookies as described above. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings.

Your rights

If you are in the UK, the European Economic Area or another region with comparable data protection law, you have rights of access, correction and erasure over personal data held about you. Because we do not hold accounts or collect personal data directly, in most cases there is nothing for us to return or delete. For data held by advertising partners, use the opt-out links above or contact those providers directly.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change, for example when advertising goes live or an analytics provider changes. The date at the top shows the last revision.
